#1 | Q: What is the CAR-100 resistance in the horizontal position= ?vertical position = ? A: Its spring loaded to provide just enough force to close the damper in the horizonal position. We recommend having dampers in the vertical orientation so that gravity helps it close. Asked on 2024-11-20 by RC |

#2 | Q: Is the preferred installation for this backdraft damper on the inlet side of the fan or the outlet side of the fan. A: It does not matter. These work in either placement. We highly recommend installing these in a section of duct that runs vertical (if possible) so that gravity helps the damper close. Asked on 2023-09-23 by Bruce |
#3 | Q: Are these designed to open under air pressure, and if so, what is the air pressure that will cause to open? A: They are lightly spring loaded and the blades are aluminum for lightness. None of the manufacturers we sell specify the pressure rating required to open. The spring loading is set for standard airflows you would see in a residential exhaust application.
