These rectangular wall hoods are prepainted, and are designed to mount on an exterior wall. They come with an extension collar, so attaching to duct is very straightforward.

| #3 | Q: I have one of these installed on an exterior kitchen wall. The duct runs back to the microwaves exhaust fan. I have insulated the duct area and sealed exterior hood. In winter, the cold air still comes through all the foam insulation. Is there something you recommend to block air leaking into kitchen. Walls are 6 inch of fibreglass insulation,fibreboard ext. & 1/2 inch sheetrock interior. Short of foaming the passage,that is. A: I would weight the door slightly to ensure positive closure and possibly put a thin weather strip around the edge to help keep air out. Asked on 2013-07-31 by Al |
