#1 Q:   Can these grilles be mounted in a wall (~4 thick) above a doorway?
A:   These are meant for a 2-1/8 inch max thickness door/wall/etc. Any thicker and the inner auxiliary frame will not slide onto the grille frame. The frame will not stay in place.

#2 Q:   Can these be made to fit a 1 thick door?
A:   1-3/16 inch min thickness for the door. These cannot be factory modified for any less than that.

#3 Q:   can it be made to open and close?
A:   Unfortunately no. These are fixed louvers and no option for dampers.
