Fantech RVF and RVF EC Exterior Fans
The RVF models are exhaust-air fans for installation on external walls. The unit consists of an impeller with backward-curved blades and a casing in galvanized sheet steel with a white powder-paint coating. When installed on an exterior wall, all ambient noise is kept outside. The EC-motor version provides the highest energy efficiency, can be speed controlled via a 0-10Vdc signal, and also includes a pre-wired speed control potentiometer.

| #3 | Q: Can you Recommend a range hood big enough to work with this Fan it doesnt look like the one you offer is big enough. Where do I install the silencer? Do I need access to it to service it? I live in the north so the winters get cold. A: The Fantech liners can accommodate any of the RVF fans including the RVF 10XL. The silencer is mounted anywhere between the liner and the fan (attic, crawl space, etc). You might want to give the duct and silencer some slope towards the fan in case there is any hint of condensation from the cold. | #4 | Q: Can the RVF6XL fan be mounted horizontally under a cantilever, i.e. duct oriented vertically? A: Not a typical application, but yes it can be mounted like that. A: Approx 3-1/16 inch for the 8 inch unit and 4-1/8 inch for the 10 inch unit. | #7 | Q: What decorative wall grill for a kitchen application do you recommend? Does thus unit require prefiltrering of the grease etc ? Or is there a built in filter? A: This is a fan only. No grease traps or filters built in. | #11 | Q: Due to house design restrictions I need to install on the outside of the attached garage, venting through the attic will be approx. 20 feet from range to fan. Will there be noise at the range end. Should I upsize the vent piping to 5 inch because of length. Thank you A: With that distance noise should be minimal, a silencer will always help as well. | #12 | Q: In a straight, through the wall installation, how do these fans rate for noise? A: If there is only a grille on the intake right through the wall, the noise will be fairly noticeable.
