#1 | Q: I am installing an ERV in our basement with 6 inch duct and the contractors exhaust and intake hoods are not to my liking (dont have dampers). I want to use these for both exhaust and intake. To convert the hood to an intake what steps are necessary to adjust/remove the damper. Secondly, is the screen effective against bugs or is it primarily for rodent. A: The damper on this unit can be removed, however it cannot be modified to function as an intake while still having a damper. The damper is accessible by removing the screw holding in the screen. The screen is primarily for rodent protection. Small bugs may still be able to intrude. Asked on 2025-09-03 by Clayton Butler |
